Veterinary soft tissue surgery encompasses a wide range of surgical procedures involving internal organs, the body wall, masses or tumors, and hernias or defects. In other words, these procedures include everything not related to bones, joints, muscles, or the neurologic system. Dr. Oshin has specialized training and experience and is fluent in the use of state-of-the-art technology necessary to provide these services.

Common veterinary soft tissue surgery conditions seen, and treatment options offered by Dr. Oshin include:

  • Emergency surgeries related to internal bleeding, intestinal obstructions, bloats, and bite wounds.
  • Abdominal and gastrointestinal surgery – surgeries for various conditions of the spleen, liver, pancreas, adrenal glands, other internal organs, and body wall hernias. These include septic peritonitis, gastrointestinal foreign body removal, colorectal surgery, masses of the spleen, liver biopsies, liver lobectomies, common bile duct obstruction, gall bladder mucoceles, portosystemic shunt attenuation, adrenalectomy, pancreatic tumors, tumors of the gastrointestinal tract, and diaphragmatic hernias
